NORMAL
I know that I can create miracles in my life and I chose to do so now My Normal Mood Of the 3 moods, mania, normal and depressed it is the normal mood that is hardest for me to define. Normal has to have the biggest range of emotions just as the whole mood spectrum of someone without the illness will encompass ups and downs so does a bipolars normal mood. The sufferer and their family and friends have always to be on the lookout for excessive extremes exhibited by the sufferer. I can be very up within my normal mood and I suppose it is only if I am up for say 2 weeks or longer that I could be hypermanic. When I am in the normal range I am cheerful, agreeable and considerate. I tackle jobs and see them through and wouldn't make spur of the moment decisions of a life changing nature without thinking them through properly. Dithering over decisions is now part of my life as I have made spur of the moment decisions when high and also when depressed so now I try to wait until my mood is normal! Not easy. In mania I may say things or decide to do something out of character. Then when my mood returns to normal I will try and deal with the situation created by the manic me. I could then get depressed and try and put matters right by doing the opposite of when I was manic. This is typical behaviour of a bipolar person. The following link is to a word document that can help diagnose the illness so if you think you or a friend or family member may have Bipolar print it off and complete it then discuss the result with the family doctor I scored 22 on the questionnaire, John
